The Chemicals industry plays a fundamental role in the modern economy by transforming raw inputs into more than 70,000 products for intermediate or final consumption. As an enabling industry, it stands at the beginning of the value chains of numerous sectors, such as agriculture, food & beverages, consumer goods, construction and pharmaceuticals. Activities associated with Chemicals are manufacturing of petroleum and coal products, basic chemicals, resins, polymers and speciality chemicals, industrial gases, fertilisers, paints and coatings, adhesives, plastics and rubber products.
