The Bank was incorporated in 1992 by a few distinguished business personalities of Nepal in partnership with Employees Provident Fund and Habib Bank Limited, one of the Commercial Banks of Pakistan. Banking operation was commenced starting from January, 1993. The Bank is the first commercial bank of Nepal whose maximum shares are held by the Nepalese private sector.
The Bank is listed on Nepal Stock Exchange.
