Iran Manganese Mines Company is a public shareholding company established in 1963. The company’s principal activities are discovery, extraction, condensation and processing of manganese ore. Its main exploration filed is in Vanaraj. Vanaraj manganese mine is the largest identified manganese mine in Iran and with production estimated at 100,000 tons per year. Initially the headquarters of the company were in Tehran, but later they were transferred to Qom. Since 1993, the company’s largest shareholder has been Iran’s diversified industrial holding Takado Co. Iran Manganese Mines was listed on Tehran Stock Exchange in 1982.
