The Arabian Food Industries Company, also known as Domty, was set up in 1989 in Giza, Egypt. The company is a producer of cheese and juice products under the trademark Domty. Starting with a few kinds of white and processed cheese from two production lines, the company reports currently over 200 stock keeping units (SKUs), which was made possible after its initialized partnership with TetraPak. Domty claims to be the first local company to introduce cheese wrapping in Egypt in 1994. Juice production lines were inaugurated in 2013. In 2014 Domty added to its product range No-Added-Sugar Juice products, pursuant to its goals to set foot in the healthy food market. The company operates an ISO-certified 6,200 sq. m. factory with 19 production lines and a combined annual capacity of 230,000 tons. Domty also controls an extensive sales and national distribution network, including a 7,500 sq. m. central warehouse adjacent to the factory, 30 additional warehouses, 97 distribution centers, and a fleet of 618 distribution vehicles. Part of Domty’s production is exported to other countries of the Middle East and the Gulf regions. In February 2016, Domty revealed its plans to invest 100 million EGP (USD 13 million) on a new factory in 6th of October city. The factory will cover an area of 27,000 sq. m with an annual capacity of 300 million packs.
