Choppies Enterprises Limited (Botswana)

Choppies Enterprises Limited is a company located in Gaborone, Botswana. It was incorporated in 1986 in the town of Lobatse, where the first store, Wayside supermarket, was opened. In 1993, a second store was opened in Lobatse, and from then on, Choppies began expanding by opening new stores in the greater Gaborone area and other highly populated areas of Botswana. In 2008, Choppies expanded into South Africa, opening a store in Zeerust, North West. The company also entered the Zimbabwean market in 2013, acquiring existing Spar network stores. Choppies opened its first distribution center in South Africa in 2014, located in Rustenburg. The company plans to expand further into East Africa, particularly Tanzania and Kenya. Choppies offers a range of private label brands under the name "Choppies," which include various food and non-food categories such as fresh, frozen, canned, dry foods, snacks, ethnic specialties, health and beauty care, household, and laundry products.
