The Company is primarily involved in manufacturing pharmaceuticals, consumer brands, animal health care products and marketing them along with fertilizer, seeds and other agricultural items.
The Company was established as the subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in East Pakistan in 1968.
The Company has been incorporated in Bangladesh on 24 January, 1973 after independence as ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited and also as a Public Limited Company.
The Company changed its name from ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited to Advanced Chemical Industries Limited on 5 May , 1992.
The Company was listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange on 28 December, 1976.
The Company was listed on Chittagong Stock Exchange on 22 October, 1995.
The Company changed its fiscal year from December 31 to June 30.
