UAE’s food, beverage exports rise 26% y/y in 2018
The UAE saw its food and beverage exports jump by 26% year-on-year for 2018, Arabian Business reported referring to the assistant under-secretary for foreign trade affairs at the country’s economy ministry, Juma Mohamed Al Keet.
Also, the value of re-exports went up by 28% on an annual basis. The food and beverage sector represented 5.7% of the country's non-oil foreign trade in 2018, valued at AED 92 billion.
According to the UAE official, the Emirates is a leader in the Arab region in the food and beverage trade. The state accounts for 26% of the area’s food and beverage exports, Arabian Business added.
