Number of hotel guests in Abu Dhabi rises 1.7% y/y in Q3 2019

The number of hotel guests in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi rose by 1.7% on annual basis to 1.3 million for the third quarter of 2019, Bidsinfo News reported referring to data released by the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT). Furthermore, hotel revenues for the reported period were also up by 1.7% to a total of AED 1.1 billion.

Between July and September 2019, the number of hotel guests for India, UK, Oman and Saudi Arabia increased the most. For example, the count of guests from India rose by 8.1% and this from the UK grew by 5.3%. The number of hotel guests from Oman went up by 18.6% and from Saudi Arabia - by 2.1%. Abu Dhabi hopes to see a record-high number of hotel guest arrivals in full 2019. Forecasts suggest the emirate will breach 5.1 million guests by the end of the year, Bidsinfo News noted.
