FDI in Mexico’s tourism projects up 3% y/y in Jan-August
Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) inflow in Mexico’s tourism projects increased 3% year-on-year to USD 624mn during the first eight months of 2019, M-Brain News Monitoring reported citing figures released by country’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco.
The hotel sector attracted approximately 25% of the total resources, Torruco said and added that foreign arrivals in the country climbed 7.6% y/y during the period of reference. The official forecasted that the number of international visitors would grow by 4.7% y/y by the end of 2019.
