Colombia’s coffee output improves sharply in September
Colombia’s coffee production rose by 3.6% year-on-year in September, improving sharply compared to the 11% y/y decline recorded a month earlier, CEEMarketWatch reported citing figures released by the National Federation of Coffee Growers (Fenalco). As a result, industry’s output increased 0.4% y/y in the last 12 months.
On the negative side, however, coffee exports dropped 7.9% y/y during the month of reference, worsening considerably compared to the 12.8% y/y growth registered in August. This is their first negative result so far this year.
