Colombia’s automotive sales up 11% y/y in October

Automotive sales in Colombia rose 11% year-on-year in October, CEEMarketWatch reported citing figures released by the National Federation of Merchants (Fenalco). This is the second-best result so far in 2019 and it is the first two-digit growth of the sector in the August-October quarter.

The solid performance during the month also suggests that private demand is recovering and the last quarter could be even more positive for the industry.

On the other hand, however, CEEMarketWatch reminds that sector’s sales expansion contrasts with the stagnation of the local labour market, where the unemployment rate slowed only 0.74% y/y in September.
