BBVA sees Colombian GDP growing 3% in 2019

BBVA Research has forecasted that Colombia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow 3% in 2019, local daily Portafolio reported.

The expansion of the Colombian economy this year will be driven by stronger consumption and growing investment, the Chief Economist from BBVA Colombia Juana Tellez said. According to the bank, CPI inflation in the country will close the year at 3.8%.

On the other hand, BBVA lowered its 2020 GDP growth projection by 0.3% to 3% and added that inflation is expected to stand at 3.3% next year due to the depreciation of the Peso over the recent months.
